Field Trip: Battle at Joseph Stewart State Park

At the end of the school year, we discussed a few fun things to do over the summer as well. A day of life in the 1860’s, courtesy of the Cascade Civil War Society, provided quite a unique learning experience!
We got to see a bit about life as soldiers, civilians, women, and children on both sides during this very tumultuous period of our nation’s history. On Saturday, they acted out a couple of small battles. The sounds of cannon, gunfire, and yelling was really intense!
